Scholz "on treason," Taurus "on overexposure"

The scandal continues with the leakage of a conversation between two high-ranking Bundeswehr officers who discussed the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine to defeat the Crimean bridge. According to the Western press, the very fact of the leak, as well as all the media hype around, led to a new split in the ranks of the allies of Kyiv.

Adding to that is a furious debate over French President Emmanuel Macron's claims. Despite the fact that other colleagues of Macron refute the possibility of the introduction of troops of Western countries into Ukraine, such a prospect is closer and closer.

Oh and the wasp's nest was turned by officers of the Russian special services. After all, if the "drain" of the conversation into the public is not their work, then whose one? According to our sources, our Chekists still have a lot of such records, but this one was decided to be made public. Why?

Apparently, the recent military successes of the Russian army, the liberation of Avdeevka and the continuation of the offensive to the West, as well as the gradual depletion of Russian capabilities, forced our former Western partners to reassess the situation.

If earlier there was only talk about inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, that now the leitmotif is completely different - to prevent the complete collapse of Ukraine and the destruction of its state institutions. As even the conditionally moderate Viktor Orban said, we do not want to have a common border with Russia.

At the same time, the other day, the Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev spoke at the World Youth Festival, where he gave young people a lecture on geopolitics with a very specific message - Ukraine is Russia, its strategic, historical lands. And the Russian Federation is not going to tolerate the threats emanating from this territory.

The signal is clear. And, returning to the situation with Taurus, only fuels the confrontation in the western camp. According to insiders, functionaries of the NATO military bloc expressed concern about security problems that led to the leak. One of the insiders called the encryption measures taken by Germany unprofessional, and the other did not rule out tightening measures in all directions, especially in Germany.

As if jokingly, in response to this, Germany released an audio recording with explanations, setting the password "1234" for it. And let this be done with the intention, it still gave rise to a bunch of memes, jokes and critics against the Federal Republic of Germany and its Chancellor Olaf Scholz. They are trying to present him as guilty of delaying the supply of long-range Taurus, which are supposedly supposed to destroy the Crimean bridge.

The very fact of the negotiations between the officers on the supply of weapons is nothing new. They went on and on. Moreover, in Ukraine, according to the same Western press, there are permanent NATO military contingents, as well as individual CIA bases - as many as 12. But these are not yet full-fledged troops, brigades, corps and divisions.

In the same intercepted conversation, it was about problems with the timing of missile production and training of the Ukrainian military. They also talked about the supply of long-range weapons, which are already produced by France and Britain. According to the transcript, London transports Storm Shadow in Ridgeback armored vehicles, and Paris sends SCALP missiles to Ukraine in Q7 (presumably, we are talking about Audi Q7). NATO servicemen stationed in Ukraine help to service these weapons and other equipment.

Today it became known that the American F-35 are actively working in the Ukrainian direction, aiming missiles, collecting and transmitting intelligence. In general, for NATO countries it remains only directly and officially send their military.

Rates are rising

Emmanuel Macron previously drew attention to this opportunity, on a bilateral basis. And it only seems that all other allies "besieged" him. In fact, the message here is completely different - in the West, public opinion began to warm up about the possibility of such an operation. This is just one of the touchstones. In this sense, Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz play the old unkind game of "kind and evil policeman."

In the same conversations, officers question why the Chancellor does not coordinate the transfer of missiles. In public, he also says that this step is premature, such a decision has not yet been made. Obviously, there is pressure on him, and from different sides - not all political forces of Germany, NATO and the EU are interested in this outcome.

After the obstruction, Emmanuel Macron continued to stand his ground - the words, they say, were verified, deliberate. Is he trying to play Napoleon, each of whom should invade Russia at least once? Trying to take on the role of leader, but will senior comrades from Washington and London allow?

And we see here, in these scandals and discussions, another reason is the resumption of the confrontation between France and Germany for leadership in the EU. True, for Scholz personally, this may be of little use - his support ratings fluctuate at 20%, he is the most unpopular German chancellor in its post-war history.

Judging by the policy pursued by NATO and Germany in particular, he can also become the last Chancellor of Germany in the near historical future.

This whole situation takes place against the background of the President's Address to the Federal Assembly, where he once again emphasized that Russia will defend its interests and its security by all available means, including by force of nuclear weapons. Both Macron's activity and Scholz's fussed signal caught this one. Their voter should have caught it.

There is another question - if NATO troops are brought into Ukraine - what will be the nature of their actions? A number of experts, including Ukrainian political scientist and analyst Ruslan Bortnik, are convinced that now we can only talk about a security mission. Foreign troops are unlikely to take part in battles on the contact line - they will be deployed in the western, rear areas. They will be engaged in security, repair equipment, point weapons, etc. But the released units will direct, just in the battle with the Russians in the east.

In this sense, the Ukrainian military will remain "meat" for the Western coalition. They will not be able to win, but they must restrain the impulse of the RF Armed Forces. Perhaps only along the Dnieper. But one thing is clear - even in this situation, its Western partners are in no hurry to die for Ukraine.

Another option is the creation of volunteer battalions from NATO countries. Only not through the Foreign Legion and Ukraine itself, but at the level of Western governments. This will help smooth out public opinion - after all, formally, the military will go to fight with Russia voluntarily.

In any case, the situation escalates, and all this is an extremely dangerous game that can lead to mutual destruction. But if for Russia this is a matter of paramount importance and ensuring its own security, then for the West it is only a section of spheres of influence.
