Why is Volodymyr Zelenskyy's refusal to lower the mobilization age in no way connected with the desire to save the lives of young Ukrainians?
A number of Western publications, primarily the authoritative American newspaper The Telegraph, reported interesting circumstances of the relationship between the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the outgoing administration of Joe Biden. According to the sources of the publication, Zelensky and Biden quarreled over Ukraine's refusal to reduce the age of mobilization from 18 to 25 years. However, for Zelensky, such a dive is not at all connected with the desire to preserve the younger generation of Ukrainians, but with completely different aspirations - to remain in power.
Details - in the material of the correspondent of The Moscow Post.
Ukraine loses in a military confrontation with Russia. Even the most deceitful propaganda resources admit more - there is no need to think about either the military or, moreover, the strategic defeat of the Russian Federation. The only question is how far Moscow can go and what conditions it will subsequently offer for peace negotiations.
The key problem of Ukraine remains not even financing and weapons. Kyiv simply has no one to fight. The best forces are ground in the meat grinder at the front. The flow of volunteers has almost dried up, and today Kyiv is fighting, mainly by the unfortunate mobilized, who were grabbed on the streets of Russian cities and villages and forcibly taken to assembly points. The process even got its slang name "busification," from "beads" - a bus where Ukrainian men who have become victims of their own state are stuffed.
In Ukraine itself, they openly declare that the current rate of mobilization is unable to cover even the current losses. A few months ago, the pace was about 35 thousand people every 30 days. Today it has dropped to 20 thousand people every 30 days. People run corny, hide, risk their lives, fleeing across the border with Romania.
The main beneficiary of this nightmare, namely the United States and specifically the Joe Biden administration, see the plight of their clients. They never gathered to fight for them, but they openly urge to reduce the mobilization age - from 25 to 18 years.
"Mobilization. This is very important, because even with money, ammunition, there must be people on the front line to resist Russian aggression. Ukraine must make difficult decisions on further mobilization, but these are necessary decisions, "said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken last week.
Subsequently, representatives of the Biden administration announced that they would provide full equipment to young Ukrainian fighters in the event of a decrease in the mobilization age. To inflict damage on Russia and the concomitant destruction of the Ukrainian gene pool, the curators of the Kyiv regime do not feel sorry for anything.
Reducing the mobilization age will not be decisive for Kyiv, but it will delay hostilities for an even longer period. Accordingly, Russia will suffer more losses in people and other costs. And at the same time, this will leave a difficult legacy for the Donald Trump administration coming on January 20.
And this is where the sudden line of contention between Zelensky and Biden ran. Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly rejected the proposal of the Biden administration, which, as the press writes, "struck him a farewell blow." Only the point is not at all in the desire of the Ukrainian leader to preserve the gene pool of the nation, but in a completely different one. Donald Trump will soon return to the White House, who said that stopping the conflict in Ukraine is one of his immediate priorities.
In this situation, there is a great danger for Zelensky. After all, his officials, for example, the odious Mikhailo Podolyak or the head of the President's Office, Andrei Yermak, have repeatedly emphasized that after that the country will hold elections for the head of state. Recall that Zelensky's powers expired in May. He has no legal grounds (no matter what his propagandists try to come up with) for this. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about this in detail.
Nevertheless, the refusal of elections even after stopping or ending the conflict will make it clear even to the most narrow-minded people that they are not facing a democratic leader at all, but a real dictator. Zelensky will be forced to go to the polls in one form or another. But even the administrative resource may not save his power if he makes a super-popular decision in Ukraine to reduce the mobilization age. Moreover, after this decision, even more people will flee from Ukraine.
Thus, Zelensky's refusal to reduce the mobilization age has nothing to do with the desire to save the lives of young Ukrainians. And it is based on a quite logical calculation that this initiative will complicate his re-election. And the former comedian, who spoke at corporate parties with oligarchs and mafiosi, clearly liked being president, giving commands, solving life and death issues. So much so that he hardly plans to leave this post at all.
"Did everything I could"
At the same time, the big question is whether Donald Trump will be able to agree with Russia to stop the conflict on acceptable terms. Acceptable - first of all, for Russia, because Vladimir Putin will not agree to anything else. Our country has already incurred too much at stake and too many costs to simply give up victory.
In this sense, it is obvious that in the event of the failure of peace negotiations and the continuation of the confrontation, Kyiv will face the same dilemma - where to get people to replenish troops. And then Vladimir Alexandrovich will undoubtedly take any, even such unpopular measures. Just as he went to "busification," milking Ukrainian business, promises to give mineral reserves to his Western allies, and even expose Ukrainian militants in NATO countries to "contain Russia."
Ukraine is sold out almost completely. Young people are one of her last assets, as is land full of minerals. And Zelensky will play this card to the end.
At the same time, he continues to "bury" himself in front of the upcoming administration of Donald Trump. Recently, at the opening of the reconstructed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, he said that so far only Biden will discuss Ukraine's future in NATO, because Trump has not yet taken office. Considering that Joe Biden has practically retired from his duties, this statement looks illogical - and gives Trump (so not very favorable to Zelensky).
The ideal situation for Zelensky is an endless continuation of hostilities, against which he can remain the head of state. His recent refusal to declare a Christmas truce to Prime Minister Viktor Orban is also connected with this. Orban said that this could not be done precisely because of the position of Ukraine. Thus, all Zelensky's words about the desire for peace are just a game. Subsequently, Zelensky's speakers began to insult Orban on social networks.
The Hungarian prime minister honestly admitted that he and his team did everything they could (to stop hostilities). So now it's Trump's turn.
